It’s the showbiz story gripping America – the shock news that US reality star Kim Kardashian is divorcing her husband Kris Humphries after just 72 days of marriage. In this week’s issue of Grazia , we ask whether it was a genuine relationship or whether Kim has conned as all. One thing’s for sure, Kim is doing her best to tell the world that it really WAS genuine. How? With a wardrobe transformation, of course. In the past couple of weeks, we’ve seen her covering up more than usual, draping her famous curves in neutral colours rather than flash-tastic brights. Teamed with a downcast expression and subtle(r) make-up , she looks (whisper it) almost dreary.
At her handbag launch in Australia last week, Kim wore a peach snakeskin blouse by Aryn K that’s so demure, it could’ve come straight from her mother’s wardrobe. Admittedly, she flaunted her pins in a lace-trimmed skirt (from the Kardashian Kollection, natch) but it’s more cutsey than sexy, dontcha think? Similarly, the Isabel Marant dress covered in fringing sends out a very sensible I-didn’t-marry-him-for-money message. Is anyone else reminded of Lindsay Lohan and her uncharacteristically prim outfits for the courtroom ? See, an outfit really can say a thousand words.
