Sin City, the setting for iconic tales of modern excess, from Hunter Thompson's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas to the film The Hangover, Vegas has become synonymous with overindulgence and cutting loose. It boasts more gambling casinos than any other city on the planet, plus the world's biggest food buffet and largest strip club, along with 15 of the world's 20 largest hotels. There are no statistics for annual alcohol consumption in Vegas, but presumably it would boggle the mind. In a city that promotes itself with the slogan, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas", anything can happen - and usually does.
