This is my second Tilley's winter hat (I like the different colors!) and I couldn't be more satisfied with a cold weather hat. I got the first one in 2004 and it has been my preferred hat for winter. A fully brimmed, wool hat is excellent protection from the elements, keeping the wind, rain, sleet and snow away from your face and neck - and Tilley's Winter hat has the perfect brim length and design to perfectly balance function and form, in my opinion. Not only does it look and work great, but, like all Tilley products, it has some very unique, practical features. First the ear flaps; they are always there. Tucked up inside the hat they can be forgotten about, they're that unobtrusive. But when the temps drop or the wind blows, just pop 'em down and they provide all the comfortable protection I need, even during the worst Montana winter. Next, the wind band; it doesn't look like much, and is also unobtrusive, but it really does work to keep you hat on your noggin in a big blow......
Smart ‘men of the jungle’ make
rain hats and leak-proof roofs
Sometimes called the “men of the jungle”, orangutans are found in the rainforests of Malaysia and Indonesia. They belong to two species – the Bornean orangutan from Sabah and Sarawak and the Sumatran orangutan from Sumatra.
You recognize an orangutan instantly. Its arms are twice as long as its legs. Hairy and brown, an orangutan is good at using its fingers, thumbs and toes, all of which are curved. It can grasp things both its hands and feet.
An orangutan has a large body, a big head, a thick neck, very strong arms, short bowed legs and no tails. Adult males have large cheek flaps which get bigger as they age.
The height of orangutans averages from four to five feet (1.2-1.5 metres), and each weighs between 73 to 180 pounds (33-82 kilograms). Males can weigh up to 250 pounds (110 kilograms) and can reach five feet nine inches (175 cm) in height.

Wild at heart
I feel like Katharine Hepburn in The African Queen, travelling down a muddy river, primly overdressed for the 40-degree heat in my broad-brimmed hat, long-sleeved shirt and long pants. I've even wrapped my hands with bandannas against the searing sun....

Dade City man savors age-old art of making cane syrup
