Classic cars rev up for The Villages Christmas Cruise In at Town Square
THE VILLAGES — The final weeks of 2011 are upon us, which means this month’s car cruise in was the last one for the year. On Saturday, a large crowd of Villagers and visitors walked up and down the streets of Spanish Springs Town Square, scanning the many automobiles on display during The Villages Christmas Cruise In.
Several cars were decked out in holiday decorations, and many people wore festive hats to celebrate the season.
The cruise ins are a lot of fun throughout the year, said Alex Szuch, a Village of Bonnybrook resident, who showed off his “Smokey and the Bandit” inspired 1979 Pontiac Trans Am.
“It’s all about meeting friends and talking about the cars with each other,” Szuch said. “We even try to help each other out if we have problems with the cars.”
Automobiles of all shapes, sizes, models, colors and years were lined up at Spanish Springs. Each car seemed to have a story to tell, and each proud owner sat nearby to tell it.
