Body found in Brunswick remains unidentified
BRUNSWICK — Police are still trying to identify a dead man found in the woods off Bath Road last week.
The man, estimated to be between 50 and 70 years old, was discovered by someone walking along railroad tracks just after noon on Thursday, Dec. 22.
According to detective Sgt. Martin Rinaldi, the body was found frozen in a shady spot in the woods. Rinaldi said the state medical examiner's office estimated the man had been dead for at least a week. His cause of death was still undetermined as of Wednesday.
Police believe the man had been camping in the woods near Merrymeeting Plaza, where investigators found a shelter made from two tarps and an air mattress.
But they also found a few unusual items: a fedora-style L.L. Bean hat and a Gore-Tex baseball cap with flaps. The man was wearing hunter orange sweatshirts and had zip-off hiking pants that were tucked into tall wool socks.
Rinaldi said in his experience, it's uncommon for homeless people to be so well-prepared to camp in the woods, and to own pricey or technical outdoor gear.

It most likely wont be cold, summer has not fully kicked in yet in the coast and it's already going to be August, so it will be a long Fall and the warm weather will stick around till probably late Nov early Dec, so it will most likely be nice, bring alittle bit of both kinds of clothes, summer and fall (e.i light sweater, jeans, shorts t's, etc.) it's unpredictable, but the hot temp. is yet to come. The water remains chilly year round, also it's important to know that regardless of where you are in the planet and there is sun, even if it's during the winter, you should still wear sunscreen.
Early December, Mid December, & Late December - You will mostly be in the northeast (with the exception of Seattle and Chicago), which means you will freeze your a** off. (You will also freeze your a** off in Chicago). If you're lucky, you'll probably even see snow at this time! Your attire for the month of December will be the same as what you wore in Anchorage.well in some places you will not feel as cold as others. however, nyc for example in december can be very very cold. you will definitely need to pack a winter coat, possibly a down feather one if you have it. lots of sweaters, long sleeve shirts...california and the west coast is known to be warmer than other places, but the climate is less humid and at night when the sun goes down it gets very chilly. in desert places it actually can be very cold at night. definitely bring a sweatshirt and pants. dont bother bringing shorts or summer tops or flip flops.
