Is there any way to take out the scratches and polish a clear plastic visor?

Question: It doesn't have to be a permanent cure, just something that will last about 3 days.
I tried the toothpaste on a small area, it just made worse. :-( I imagine the chrome polish is probably more abrasive.

Answer: There are polishing compounds out there for plexiglass and Lexan products ~ we purchased ours directly from plastic manufacturers for exhibit use, although it looks like they might also be available from marinas. I did find one link for you :)

It took until the last holdout, ex-Flyers center Craig MacTavish, retired in 1997 that all players had plastic on their domes.

The wheels of safety indeed turn slowly.

Now we seem to be faced with a similar dilemma involving facial protection.

More than half the 700-plus NHL players wear visors, most of them young players who were forced to wear them in juniors and the minors.

The old guys want a choice. They say they grew up without shields, and now it’s too hard to adapt, citing visibility issues and so forth.

But if they took a vote next year when the collective bargaining agreement comes up for renewal, why wouldn’t the veterans be in favor of putting in a grandfather clause similar to the helmet arrangement 32 years ago?

Just put a clause in the CBA that says from here on, all players entering the league must wear a visor.

Like helmets, it might take 18 years to finish the job, but at least it would be a step in the right direction.
