U.S. Navy Blue Angels Nos. 7 and 8 are scheduled to arrive in Tuscaloosa about 3:45 p.m. on Thursday and depart around noon on Friday from the Tuscaloosa Regional Airport.
The two U.S. Navy Blue Angel pilots will meet with both Tuscaloosa and air show officials to begin planning for the air show scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, March 31 and April 1.
The Blue Angels performance at the 2012 Tuscaloosa Air Show will commemorate heroes
throughout the city and county of Tuscaloosa, the state of Alabama and the nation. The official kick-off for the event will begin with a pilot's reception March 30, followed by the air show.
“We are extremely excited to host the U.S. Navy Blue Angels again, especially with an Alabama native on the 2012 team. It is a rare opportunity for a community without a Naval Air Station base to see the Blue Angels come back one year after another, and we are honored to have them returning for the third time in four years,” said Kelsey Colglazier, director of sports marketing and public relations for the Tuscaloosa Tourism and Sports Commission.
